On Monday April 13, Maydan founder and chef Rose Previte and chef Alfonso “Poncho” Martinez and activist Odilia Romero of Lugya’h are welcoming chef Sean Sherman to Maydan Market for an evening of culinary collaboration and native heritage.

Following the conversation, guests are invited to Maydan restaurant, where Previte, Martinez, Sherman will gather around the market's central hearth for a unique, one-night only “Tawle” feast. Tawle, which means “table” in Arabic, captures the spirit of abundance and communal dining, with this special dinner highlighting Maydan’s signature Middle Eastern dishes alongside special, fire-based creations from Sherman and Martinez, celebrating the history and culture found in Indigenous American and Zapotec cuisines. For the dinner, an optional wine pairing will be available featuring selections from Camins 2 Dreams, an indigenous California winery founded by wife-and-wife team Tara Gomez and Mireia Taribó.
