The LA84 Foundation will host its free Play Day Block Party on June 27, a community celebration with fun for all ages. West Adams Blvd. will be transformed into a sprawling two-street festival that is packed with live music, 20+ sports activations, interactive games, LA’s pro sports teams, food trucks, mascots, giveaways, art and a joyful community spirit. 

Play Day is held annually in celebration of the National Day of Play, which recognizes the transformative power of sport, play and movement in young lives – and its power to unite communities by encouraging belonging and connection. 

Play Day music and entertainers on the community stage include Top Shelf Brass Band, Plaza De La Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble, Girls Make Beats, Sierra Sellers, the Drummers of Compton, Bboy Lil Rock, Los Negrete Fam, and U Neek. DJ Puffs will keep the party going between sets.
 

Entrance to the 2026 Play Day Block Party is free and open to everyone, attendees are encouraged to registerin advance. The LA84 Foundation’s charitable partner, the Play Equity Fund, sent 120 boxes of sports equipment to organizations across the country to hold their own simultaneous Play Day celebrations. Over 11,000 youth are expected to join in nationwide after receiving the “Play Day In A Box” kits. Play Day is also celebrated on social media, with people sharing photos of themselves participating in physical activity with the hashtag #playday26 and tagging @playequityfund and @la84foundation.
