The quartet of vocalist/guitarist Yonlapa “Noina” Pienpanassak, synth player Arnuphap “Gunn” Foeilung, bassist Nawin Raknaisil and drummer Chalanthorn “Fewchy” Soontornpitak introduced themselves through the English-language tracks ‘U’ and ‘Let Me Go,’ tapping into wellsprings of nostalgia and yearning, and drawing comparisons to fellow Thai acts Phum Viphurit, Landokmai, Moving and Cut, and Dept.
In 2021, YONLAPA released their EP album titled 'First Trip' which NME described as “a journey through the tender landscapes of dream pop and shoegaze.” Since then, YONLAPA has been touring the region and gaining a growing number of fans in Thailand and Asia.
In 2023, YONLAPA released their very first full album called "Lingering Gloaming" featuring hit song “I'm Just Like That” which to date has over 500k views on YouTube. The album touches on sorrow, longing, and reconciliation beneath a complex haze of dream pop. It's a creative combination that only YONLAPA can call their own.
YONLAPA will perform at Phoenix Central Park on Wednesday 16 October 2024.
