when: 12 October 2024 | venue: Buxton Contemporary | cost: This is a free event | address: Buxton Contemporary, Dodds St, Southbank 3006

Beginning at the site of the mouth and expanding out to encompass the entire architecture, Body Loss transforms the limits of the body and the structures that contain it.

The University of Melbourne acquired Angela Goh's Body Loss in 2024. As part of this process, Angela has been teaching the work to Melbourne-based dancers Molly McKenzie and Gemma Sattler. Following Goh’s performance of Body Loss at Buxton Contemporary in May 2024, McKenzie and Sattler’s forthcoming performances celebrate this transmission of embodied knowledge.

Body Loss was created by Angela Goh, and is performed by Molly McKenzie (14 September) and Gemma Sattler (12 October). Commissioned by Auto Italia, the work has been previously exhibited in London, Munich, Brussels, Austin, Melbourne, Sydney and Zurich.
