Legendary jacket designer Jeff Hamilton—renowned for creating iconic jackets for global superstars like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, and Madonna—is the subject of the highly anticipated film documentary "Welcome to My Roots", directed & produced by David Serero, which will have its Los Angeles premiere at this year’s prestigious HollyShorts Film Festival for the Opening Night. Jeff Hamilton will be honored with the Sports Icon Culture Awards at the Premiere.
An Oscar-qualifying event, the HollyShorts Film Festival is renowned for spotlighting bold and innovative storytelling. Welcome to My Roots will be featured on opening night as part of the festival’s acclaimed Sports Category.
Directed by award-winning director and producer David Serero, "Welcome to My Roots “ follows Hamilton’s emotional return to his Moroccan roots and offers an intimate portrait of the man behind the global fashion empire. Known as the "Celebrity Jacket Designer," Hamilton’s creations have become visual icons worn by the world’s greatest entertainers and athletes.
The film features testimonials from Mike Tyson, LeBron James, DJ Khaled, Snoop Dogg, Constantin Brabus, Ugo Mozie, Fengchen Wang, Mani Nordine, and others, blending personal reflections with historical highlights that trace Hamilton’s extraordinary career.
The HollyShorts Film Festival will take place from August 7 to 17 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, bringing together top filmmakers, industry executives, and tastemakers from around the world.

Its selection in the Sports Category underscores HollyShorts’ mission to celebrate stories that explore the more profound cultural impact of sports beyond the arena.
The film has been selected for the Opening Night screening on August 7th at 6:00 p.m. (Red Carpet at 5:00 p.m.) at the TCL Chinese Theater 6. A Q&A with Jeff Hamilton and David Serero will follow the screening.
