when: 12 October 2024 | venue: Macpherson St entrance Melbourne General Cemetery | cost: This is a free event | address: Macpherson St entrance, Melbourne General Cemetery, College Cres, Parkville 3052Come along to the Melbourne General Cemetery for a 'grassroots' community planting day, where you will introduce some native wildflower seedlings to the established Project Cultivate grasslands. Young or old, green thumb or brown, head down to the cemetery, explore the grasslands and help add some indigenous wildflowers to this iconic space.
Meet at the MacPherson Street entry to the cemetery. The team will be planting in the established grasslands along this boundary. All participants will be required to sign in before undertaking planting.
There will be a food truck onsite for the event, where you can purchase hot and cold drinks and some light snacks. Come dressed for the weather conditions – enclosed footwear is a must. Some trowels and gloves available, but you are welcome to bring your own. BYO water bottle.
This event is conducted as a Planet Ark planting day.
