The iconic global phenomenon, Jesus Christ Superstar opens at the Princess Theatre in March, with a mesmerising new production that has garnered unprecedented reviews and accolades as it has toured the US and UK, including winning an Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

This unmissable musical stars one of Australia’s most well-respected musicians and internationally acclaimed recording artists Michael Paynter as Jesus, the dynamic and exciting musical theatre star Javon King as Judas and soul and blues powerhouse, the superlative Mahalia Barnes as Mary.

Featuring lyrics and music by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ, as seen through the eyes of Judas. The legendary score includes I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar.
