Curious about how to become a local field naturalist? In this workshop, the artist will guide you step-by-step into immersive nature journaling, drawing from her commitment and passion for understanding and drawing inspiration from the natural environment surrounding us, including lichens.
The artist will teach alternative ways of sketching the surroundings, the lichens growing onto the biocanvas, and its biodiversity by using not only your sight but also other senses to convey a sense of the immaterial and intangible during encounters with nature.
At the end of this workshop, you will learn how to create a phenology wheel as a tool for documenting a changing environment over longer periods of time. This practice helps to build the observational skills necessary to witness the cyclical shifts taking place in your local ecosystem.
The artist will provide the necessary workshop materials for journaling. If you prefer, bring your own sketch book and coloured pens along with an iPhone. Don't miss this opportunity to unleash your creativity and explore the wonders of the natural world!
