when: 04 December 2024 | venue: Kings Cross Library | cost: Free | address: 50-52 Darlinghurst Road, Potts Point NSW 2011Join us for an opportunity to connect, learn, and share in a supportive and welcoming environment at our December LGBTIQA+ discussion group meeting.
This gathering is designed to bring people from the community together to chat, share ideas, and explore issues of importance to the LGBTIQA+ community. Think of it as a book club for short-form texts, enriched by the diverse perspectives and stories of its participants.
Each session is facilitated by guest activists, authors, and performers who not only guide the discussion but also invite attendees to share their own stories and insights. Before the event, participants will be informed of a selected text, which we will read together during the session and which will guide the discussion.
For our December edition, we are excited to welcome back two exceptional guest facilitators:
Speedy Shatari: A proud non-binary and transmasculine individual who has played a crucial role in developing Australia's first LGBTIQA+ Jewish Mentorship Program.
Adam Doughty: A non-binary artist and designer known for their innovative and inclusive work.
Stay tuned for more information about the selected text and come prepared for an inspiring and thought-provoking session. We look forward to seeing you there!
We aim to present inclusive and accessible events. If you have any particular access or communication needs please contact Jana Hawkins-Andersen, programs coordinator on 02 9265 9333 or jhawkinsandersen@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
