The event's proceeds will support the Los Angeles Parks Foundation (www.laparksfoundation.org), established in 2008 to improve and maintain public parks and recreational areas. Proceeds will specifically aid the Venice Beach Recreation Center to foster health and recreation for the community. Organizations such as the LA Parks Foundation are becoming increasingly important as they work to enhance and conserve parks while promoting vital environmental education.
The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities and is the only race that starts and finishes out over the water on the iconic Venice Beach Pier (3100 Washington Blvd, Venice, CA). Participants can sign up for the fast + flat 5K at 8:30 AM or the Speedy 1 Miler at 10:00 AM. Participants will receive a commemorative race shirt (with a new design each year!), a custom cinch bag, a die-cast finisher medal, and complimentary downloadable race photos. The finish line festival includes a beer garden, live DJs, and opportunities to explore fitness expos and sample offerings from various local businesses and restaurants.
