Join us in celebrating The Bang Group’s 21st season of Nut/ Cracked! In this beloved response to The Nutcracker, choreographer David Parker merges tap, vaudeville, ballet, disco, contemporary dance, and genre-nonconforming glee with bubble wrap and Chinese takeout noodles. Set to Tchaikovsky’s score, including renditions by Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller, Nut/Cracked is Parker’s holiday gift to NYC’s dance community. Melding NYC grit with the spirit of dance schools and their inevitable Nutcrackers, Nut/Cracked breaks from tradition and embraces the season’s essence; snow, greed, presents, addiction, tap and toe shoes. You’ll never watch The Nutcracker in the same way!
