Sounds of Hope—a charity concert at St Andrew’s Cathedral Sydney and part of the International Festival of Ukrainian Organ Music.

The festival celebrates the 55th anniversary of the Ukrainian organ school at Kyiv Conservatorium and the 115th birthday of its founder, Professor Arseniy Kotlyarevskyi.

Six Sydney organists will play Ukrainian organ music by Kolessa, Shukh, Goncharenko, Lunyov, Ostrova and Leontiev, many of the pieces are an Australian first.

There will be sparkling organ improvisations and contrasting pieces from supporting instruments, including the signature sound of the Ukrainian traditional instrument, the bandura.

Colourful Ukrainian art will be on display. Ukrainian delicacies can be purchased before and after the concert and during the interval.

Prepare to be impressed by the colours of the magnificent Hill/Letourneau organ at St Andrew's Cathedral.
